Position Available: First Nations Producer

We are currently seeking a First Nations Producer to join the Urban Theatre Projects team.

The First Nations Producer is primarily responsible for Producing Urban Theatre Projects’ First Nations projects, which includes supporting emerging, mid-career and established artists, building relationships with First Nations organisations and artists in Western Sydney as well as nationally and internationally, informing the work of UTP more broadly from an First Nations perspective, leading on other non-First Nations projects, and contribute to the sustainability of the position through strategic advice.

The position is ideal for a senior arts leader who has a strong commitment to supporting a diverse range of art forms, the development of First Nations artists, and promoting First Nations work to the wider arts and cultural communities. While the initial phase of this position prioritises UTP’s existing program, in the longer term the First Nations Producer will work closely with UTP’s First Nations Curator.

The First Nations Producer must have a proven record of producing new work, possess excellent communication skills, experience working with a diverse range of groups and stakeholders, exceptional project management and planning skills, and a proven ability to attract funding and support for arts projects. Detailed responsibilities will be negotiated with the successful applicant, depending on their skills and experience.

The First Nations Curator reports to the Artistic Director.

This is an Aboriginal Identified Position.
